Miss Universe Myanmar 2024 is Thet San Andersen

Thet San Andersen was crowned Miss Universe Myanmar 2024 in a national competition held on Friday, June 7 at the Yangon Convention Center. The 24-year-old Burmese-Swedish model, representing Yangon North, bested over 50 other contestants to win the title. She succeeds last year's winner Amara Bo. Cherry Moe of Meiktila was the first runner-up while Han Lay of Yangon South, Eaint Myat Chal of Mawlamyine, Thaw Dar Sun of Taungoo, and Mary Htoi Ra of Myitkyina were respectively announced as the second, third, fourth, and fifth runners-up. Completing the Top 10 finalists were Myo Thandar Zaw of Bago, Yin May Hnin of Hpa-an, Ti Aye of Pathein, and Shin Yoon Eain of Taunggyi. The new Miss Universe Myanmar will now prepare to represent her country at the Miss Universe 2024 pageant to be held in Mexico later this year. Myanmar's Amara Bo is off to El Salvador for Miss Universe 2023

Miss Universe Myanmar 2023 Amara Bo departed Yangon International Airport on Wednesday, November 1 to compete in the Miss Universe 2023 pageant in El Salvador. Wearing a stunning fuchsia pink outfit by Nwe Ni Win Maung, the beauty queen was joined by her supporters at the airport before her flight with Thai Airways. According to the Miss Universe Myanmar organizers, due to some difficulties that resulted in the delay in obtaining her US transit visa, she will have a stopover in Vietnam before she continues her journey to the competition. Amara will be the 13th Burmese representative in the Miss Universe pageant. She is currently one of the Top 10 contestants leading the fan vote. Since its debut in the competition in 1959, her country's first and only placement so far is in the Top 21 with Thuzar Wint Lwin at Miss Universe 2020. Miss Universe Myanmar 2023 is Amara Bo

Amara Bo was crowned Miss Universe Myanmar 2023 in the national competition held on Thursday, September 14 at the Novotel Yangon Max Hotel. The 26-year-old model representing Kengtung beat over 30 other competitors to win the title on her second try. She was in the Top 10 during last year's edition. Dee of Mawlamyine was named first runner-up while Khaymar Budathoki of Bhamo, Nang Nandar Linn of Tachileik, No No May of Pathein, and Thin Sandar Pyae Thiha Aung of Pyin Oo Lwin were the second, third, fourth, and fifth runners-up, respectively. The new Miss Universe Myanmar succeeds last year's winner Zar Li Moe and will now prepare to represent the "Land of the Golden Pagodas" at Miss Universe 2023 in El Salvador this November. Miss Universe Myanmar 2022 is Zar Li Moe

Zar Li Moe beat 15 other finalists to be crowned Miss Universe Myanmar 2022 on Saturday, October 1 at the Grand Ballroom of the Novotel Hotel in Yangon. The 20-year-old commercial model from Bhamo also bagged Miss Royal by Lucky Diamond, Miss Beautiful Smile, and Face of Pan Aesthetics awards. She will now prepare to represent Myanmar at the 71st Miss Universe pageant in New Orleans, Louisiana, the USA this January. Completing the Top 5 finalists were first runner-up Ya Mone, second runner-up Thinzar Min Htet, third runner-up Kendra and fourth runner-up Kay Zin Khant. Myanmar has yet to win the Miss Universe pageant. The country's highest placement was in 2020 with Thuzar Wint Lwin who placed in the Top 21. Miss Universe Myanmar Thuzar Wint Lwin cries out 'Pray for Myanmar' during national costume competition

Thuzar Wint Lwin's journey to represent her country Myanmar at the 69th Miss Universe pageant in Hollywood, Florida has not been easy. Despite the odds from her departure to losing her luggage including the national costume she was supposed to wear in the competition, she arrived with a powerful message for the Junta. During the national costume competition held on Thursday, May 13, she showcased another costume that identifies the delicate weaving skills of Burmese women and their strong spirit. At the end of the runway, she raised a banner that read “Pray for Myanmar.” The 22-year-old model from Hakha has been openly using her platform to criticize her country's military coup and support the pro-democracy movement. SPOTLIGHT: Myanmar's Thuzar Wint Lwin heads to US for the 69th Miss Universe competition

Miss Universe Myanmar 2020 Thuzar Wint Lwin has safely left for the US amid the current political conflict in her country to compete in the 69th Miss Universe pageant. There were concerns regarding her departure for the international competition because she has been openly using her platform to support her countrymen's fight for democracy. "A Miss Universe is a woman who paves her own way and achieves her dreams, overcoming the obstacles that await along the journey. So here I come," Thuzar shared on her official social media page. Hailing from Hakha, the 22-year-old works as a professional model and beauty blogger. She holds a diploma in tourism and hospitality management from Star University and currently an English student at the University of East Yangon.
