Sweden's Yvonne Ryding celebrates 40 years since winning Miss Universe 1984

Let's walk down memory lane as 40 years ago, Fröken Sverige Yvonne Agneta Ryding was crowned Miss Universe 1984 during the 33rd Miss Universe pageant in Miami, Florida. At age 21, she became the third Swedish woman in history to become Miss Universe. The blue-eyed blondie received the crown from her predecessor Lorraine Downes of New Zealand following the glittering spectacle on July 9, 1984. In an Instagram post on Tuesday, exactly 40 years since she won the crown, Yvonne shared: "Celebrating my 40th anniversary today, the 9th of July. Thank you to all my sisters around the world. All the girls that were competing my year. My life changed overnight." "As my friend (the box champ Ingemar Johansson), told me the first week of my reign, "Yvonne remember a champ is always a champ. Sweden's Moa Sandberg reveals her national costume for the 70th Miss Universe pageant

Sweden's Moa Sandberg will be wearing the majestic national costume designed by Miss Universe Sweden's Creative Director & Official Designer, Aviad Arik Herman. The national costume is a regal tribute to the Kingdom of Sweden's beloved monarchy and in honor of the 70 years of diplomatic relationship between Sweden and Israel as well as the 70th edition of the Miss Universe competition. Moa will compete with over 70 other beauties from around the world during the 70th Miss Universe pageant on December 12 in Eilat, Israel. Miss Universe Sweden 2021 is Moa Sandberg

Moa Sandberg was crowned Miss Universe Sweden 2021 in a national final held on Saturday, October 30 at Clarion Hotel Post in Gothenburg. The 25-year-old beauty from Stockholm bested 15 other finalists to win her title. She succeeds Lina Ljungberg and will now prepare to represent Sweden at the 70th Miss Universe pageant in Eilat, Israel this December. Lucy Dimitrova and Sofia Sjöberg were named the first and second runners-up, respectively. "I knew that this weekend would be a life-changing moment for me and the world. The universe was with me the whole time and I am truly forever thankful," Moa shared on her social media account. "My crown is not just a symbol of that I am capable to stand up confidently, it is also proof that I am in alliance with my beliefs. I have a lot to give and this is just the beginning of something even bigger," she added.
