Zainab Jama, 23, has been officially announced to represent Somalia at the 72nd Miss World competition in Hyderabad, India this May. The new Miss World Somalia holds a degree in aviation and airport management and is passionate about global opportunities and cultural exchange. As the founder of the Female Initiative Foundation, she is a dedicated activist against Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), using her platform to protect and empower young girls. Beyond advocacy, Zainab enjoys football, modeling, and poetry. No stranger to pageantry, she has previously joined the Miss Global 2023 pageant in Vietnam where she made the Top 13. Miss World Somalia 2022 is Bahja Mohamoud

A student and entrepreneur originally from Beledweyne, Bahja Mohamoud, has been officially announced as Miss World Somalia 2022. She is now expected to represent her country at the 71st Miss World pageant. The 22-year-old is currently studying at the University of St. Thomas in Saint Paul, Minnesota, and enjoys swimming, boating, piano, violin, volunteering at animal shelters, and cooking every cuisine under the sun. Bahja grew up with a very early passion for medicine, mental health awareness, and education, with a particular interest in healthcare within the Somali community. Her first business was a chemical dependency clinic that had the goal of reducing the stigma of mental health conditions and co-occurring drug addiction in her community when she was only 18.
