Philippines' Shannon Robinson wins Miss Environment International 2023

Shannon Robinson of the Philippines was crowned Miss Environment International 2023 on Thursday, June 15 at CIDCO Exhibition & Convention Centre in Vashi, Mumbai, India. The 28-year-old Filipino-Irish beauty from Manila succeeds last year's winner Kayra Wouters of Belgium. She became the first representative from her country to win the two-year-old international pageant which is dedicated to the environment. Her court of runners-up includes Flora Puira of Cameroon, Pauline Marere of Zimbabwe, Romane Alvies of Sri Lanka, and Savannah Robyn of the United Kingdom. They were awarded the titles Miss Flora and Fauna, Miss Ecosystem, Miss Aqua, and Miss Paradigm, respectively. Rounding out the Top 6 finalists was Colombia's Juliana Aristizábal who bagged the Ambassador of the Environment title. Mutya ng Pilipinas and the Miss Intercontinental Organization forge ties, Iona Gibbs appointed Miss Intercontinental Philippines 2023 Mutya Ng Pilipinas (MNP) one of the most- respected and longest-running beauty pageants in the Philippines proudly announced its official alliance with the Miss Intercontinental Organization (MIO). Having been awarded the license for 2023, the Mutya ng Pilipinas 2022 winner Iona Gibbs from Bataan will be the official delegate to the Miss Intercontinental 2023 pageant. Iona Gibbs bested 39 other competitors to win Mutya ng Pilipinas 2022 (Jewel of the Philippines) in a glittering final show held on Sunday, December 4 at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City. The 18-year-old Filipino-Canadian singer-songwriter and model representing Bataan also bagged the Best in Long Gown award. She was crowned by her predecessor Mutya ng Pilipinas 2019 Klyza Castro and is now expected to represent the Philippines at the next Miss Asia Pacific International pageant. Northern California's Arianna Kyla Padrid was named Mutya ng Pilipinas - World Top Model, Camarines Sur's Jeanette Reyes clinched the title Mutya ng Pilipinas - Tourism International, and California's Jesi Mae Cruz was awarded the Mutya ng Pilipinas - Overseas Communities. The Top 40 contestants vying for the Mutya ng Pilipinas 2022 (Jewel of the Philippines) pageant have been officially presented to the press on Wednesday, November 23 at the Citadines Bay City Manila. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the national competition was not held in 2020 and 2021. The winner of the upcoming 52nd edition is expected to represent the Philippines at Miss Asia Pacific International 2023 on a date and venue yet to be announced. Klyza Castro, the titleholder from 2019 and the longest reigning Mutya ng Pilipinas, will crown her successor on Sunday, December 4 at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City. In addition to the main winner, six other titles are at stake consisting of Mutya ng Pilipinas - World Top Model, Tourism International, Overseas Communities, Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
