California's Athenna Crosby crowned Miss World America 2024

Athenna Crosby of California bested over 40 other contestants to win the Miss World America 2024 pageant on Sunday, November 17 in Seattle, Washington. The 26-year-old American-Venezuelan model and actress succeeds last year's winner Victoria DiSorbo and will now prepare to represent the United States of America at the 72nd Miss World. Kimberly Nwankolo of Oregon was named first runner-up while Anne Li of the District of Columbia, Aishwarya Kumar of Central Washington, and Heather Alexia Santos of Washington were the second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively. The new Miss World America is a devoted advocate for people with disabilities. Aside from modeling and acting, she is also a journalist, singer, and a TV presenter. No stranger to pageantry, Athenna is a former Miss California Teen USA. She represented her home state at Miss Teen USA 2016 and made the Top 15. Vietnam's Huynh Thi Thanh Thuy has received a warm homecoming celebration after winning her country's first Miss International last week in Tokyo, Japan. Fans flocked to the international airport in Ho Chi Minh City on Monday, November 18 to welcome the 22-year-old beauty from Danang. Thuy made history for Vietnam after beating 70 other contestants to win the 62nd Miss International on November 12 at the Tokyo Dome City Hall. Antioquia's Catalina Duque Abréu crowned Señorita Colombia 2024

Catalina Duque Abréu was crowned Señorita Colombia 2024 (Miss Colombia 2024) on November 10 at the Cartagena Convention Center. The 25-year-old beauty representing Antioquia bested over 30 other contestants to win the national title. She became the seventh winner from Antioquia and the first in 28 years after Claudia Elena Vásquez in 1996. Nicolle Ospina of Atlántico placed second and was named Virreina while Juliana Osorio of Region Caribe, Valentina Tafur of Valle, and Olga Álvarez of Riohacha were the first, second, and third runners-up, respectively. Sharon Gamarra of Barranquilla, Yaniris Castellar of Cartagena, Ángela Capella of Chocó, Liz Zamara Yanquen of Norte de Santander, and María José Chacon of Tolima were the rest of the Top 10. Mister South Africa 2024 is Marcel Roux

Marcel Roux was proclaimed Mister South Africa 2024 in a national competition held on November 9 at Vodacom World Events in Midrand. The 26-year-old educator and sports organizer from Cape Town bested nine other finalists to win the title. He succeeds last year's winner Tiaan Massyn. Luca Pontiggia and Dylan Majavie were named the first and second runners-up, respectively. "Honoured, humbled, and beyond grateful to be crowned Mr. South Africa. This journey has been about resilience, dedication, and the unwavering support of everyone who believed in me," said the new Mister South Africa. Mr World 2024: Puerto Rico's Daniel Mejía wins Sports Challenge

Puerto Rico's Daniel Mejía was declared the overall winner of the Mr World 2024 Sports Challenge following the combined results of swimming and running events. The swimming round was held on November 14, while the running round took place on Sunday in conjunction with the Strong Vietnam Marathon in Vung Tau City. Kirk Bondad of the Philipines came second while Bruno Barbieri of Italy, Manu Turner of England, and Vincent Gobuamang of Botswana were third, fourth, and fifth, respectively. Denmark's Victoria Kjær Theilvig bested 124 other contestants to win Miss Universe 2024 on Saturday, November 16 at the Arena CDMX in Mexico City. The 21-year-old beauty made history as the first-ever Danish woman to win the highly coveted international title. She succeeds last year's winner Sheynnis Palacios from Nicaragua. Chidimma Adetshina from Nigeria was named first runner-up while María Fernanda Beltrán from Mexico, Suchata Chuangsri from Thailand, and Ileana Márquez from Venezuela were announced as the second, third and fourth runners-up, respectively. For the past two weeks, equally beautiful and empowered beauties from 125 countries and territories have been busy filming, touring, and preparing for the upcoming final show. The spectacular Miss Universe 2024 preliminary competition and national costume show was held last night at the Arena CDMX in Mexico City. Hosted by reigning Miss Universe Sheynnis Palacios and Miss Universe 2022 R'Bonney Gabriel, the important event kicked off with the contestants parading in their colorful and stunning national costumes. After the national costume segment, each contestant walked on stage in their swimsuits and capes, and then by group during the evening gown. An esteemed panel of selection committee carefully assessed each of their performances. Scores from last night's event including their closed-door interviews, will help determine the semifinalists. South Africa's Mia le Roux withdraws from Miss Universe 2024

The Miss South Africa Organization has just announced that the reigning Miss South Africa Mia le Roux has withdrawn from Miss Universe 2024. In an official statement, the organization wrote, "It is with deep regret that we share the news that Mia le Roux, Miss South Africa 2024, has had to withdraw from the Miss Universe competition due to health concerns." According to Mia, "Making this decision has been incredibly challenging, knowing the dreams and hopes that have been placed upon me." "I am deeply grateful to have the opportunity to focus on my health and recovery so that I may continue to serve my country with full strength," she added. The Miss South Africa Organization also expressed their full support of Mia's decision to leave the competition.
