Miss Universe 2024: Philippines' Chelsea Manalo wins Best in National Costume

The Miss Universe Organization has officially announced Chelsea Manalo of the Philippines as the Best in National Costume winner at Miss Universe 2024. Completing the Top 3 finalists for the special award were Emilia Dides from Chile (second place) and Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen from Vietnam (third place). Chelsea's national costume "Hiraya" meaning "the fruit of one's hopes, dreams, and aspirations" was voted the ultimate winner among 125 costumes showcased on this year's Miss Universe stage. Created by Filipino fashion designer Manny Halasan, the winning costume was a homage to the Philippines' diverse history and culture. It depicted the complex yet rich relationship between the Philippines and Mexico. The stunning creation was also an artistic interpretation of the introduction of both Christianity and Islam to the Philippines. Miss Earth 2024 kicks off in the Philippines

Miss Earth 2024, the 24th edition of the annual Miss Earth pageant has officially kicked off in the Philippines. Over 70 beauties from different parts of the planet have arrived in the host country to compete for the crown. They were officially introduced in a press presentation on Wednesday, October 23 at the 5-star Okada Manila Hotel in Parañaque City, Metro Manila. The contestants walked the red carpet runway wearing stunning creations by Filipino designers, each featuring the indigenous weaves of the Philippines. USA's Bea Millan Windorski won the gold medal for Best Philippine Heritage Attire while Tamara Aznar of the Dominican Republic and Tiffany Faith Wanyama of Kenya received the silver and bronze medals, respectively. Daumier Corilla of the Philippines was proclaimed Mister Global 2024 on Sunday, October 6 at MCC Hall of The Mall Lifestore Bangkapi in Bangkok, Thailand. The 28-year-old model, actor, and host bested over 30 other contestants to become the first-ever Filipino winner of the international male pageant. Manuel Romo of Spain and Favour Ogbuokiri of Nigeria were named the first and second runners-up, respectively, while Luiz Mascarenhas of Brazil and Patrick Pho-ngam Forstner of Thailand rounded out the Top 5 finalists. Christine Juliane Opiaza was crowned Miss Grand Philippines 2024 on Sunday, September 29 at the  Newport Performing Arts Theater in Pasay City, Metro Manila. The 25-year-old host, model and runway coach from Castillejos, Zambales beat 19 other contestants to win the national competition. She succeeds last year's winner Nikki de Moura of Cagayan de Oro and will now represent the Philippines at Miss Grand International 2025 in Thailand this October. Sophia Bianca Santos of Pampanga was named Universal Woman Philippines 2025 and will go to the Universal Woman 2025 pageant. Juvyel Anne Saluta of the Philippines was crowned Miss Elite 2024 in a glittering event held on Friday, September 13 in Soma Bay, a coastal resort on the Red Sea in Egypt. The 20-year-old model beat over 30 other competitors to win the international title for the first time in the history of her country. She also bagged the Best Smile award. Miss Earth 2024 final date and venue officially announced

The Miss Earth organization officially announced the Philippines on Monday, September 2 as the host country of the Miss Earth 2024 competition. According to the organizers, this year's theme is "Heritage" and the pageant will not only showcase the breathtaking eco-tourism destinations and rich heritage of the Philippines but also feature the heritage of participating countries from around the world. This year's competition, now on its 24th edition, will start in October and the final coronation night will be held on November 9 at Okada Manila in Parañaque City, Metro Manila. Reigning Miss Earth Drita Ziri from Albania will crown her successor at the culmination of the event. All events will be streamed live worldwide on Miss Earth's social media accounts. Krishnah Marie Gravidez bested 32 other contestants to win Miss World Philippines 2024 on Friday, July 19 at SM Mall of Asia Arena in Parañaque City. The 23-year-old beauty from Baguio City was crowned by her predecessor Gwendolyne Fourniol of Negros Occidental. She will represent the Philippines at the 72nd Miss World whose date and venue have yet to be announced. Eight semifinalists showcased their speaking and presentation skills, along with their intelligence and quick thinking during the fast-track event. The challenge culminated with the announcement of the Top 3 finalists.
