Miss Universe Switzerland 2024 is Laura Bircher from Stans

Laura Bircher was crowned Miss Universe Switzerland 2024 in a glittering national competition held on Saturday, September 28 at the Kursaal Arena in Bern. The 23-year-old mental health advocate from Stans succeeds last year's winner Lorena Santen and will now prepare to represent Switzerland at Miss Universe 2024 in Mexico this November. Barbara Suter and Nadiya Karplyuk were named the first and second runners-up, respectively. Last night's event was hosted by Mister Colombia International 2012 Rey Rodríguez with Swiss media personality Virgil Jamie. Former Miss Universe Nepal and Miss Universe 2023 Top 20 semifinalist Jane Dipika Garrett graced the event as one of the judges. The 73rd Miss Universe pageant will be held at the Mexico City Arena (Arena CDMX) in Mexico City, Mexico on November 16. Miss Universe Switzerland 2023 is Lorena Santen

Lorena Santen was crowned Miss Universe Switzerland 2023 in a national competition on Saturday, September 23 at the Hilton Hotel in Geneva. The 26-year-old economics graduate from Aargau beat 14 other competitors to win the title. She succeeds last year's winner Alia Guindi and will soon represent her country at Miss Universe 2023 in El Salvador. Marisa Varunee Kappenthuler and Emilie Bovier were the first and second runners-up, respectively, while  Jessica Alice Schmid and Dalia Del Valle Kramer rounded out the Top 5 finalists. The rest of the Top 10 were Gaia Bertoncini, Marine Sayard, Sol Cristina Von Allmen, Vanessa Williams, and Virginie Monney. Mister Grand International 2022 is Michael Pelletier of Switzerland

Michael Pelletier, representing Switzerland, was proclaimed Mister Grand International 2022 on Friday, November 25 at the Southern Academy for the Performing Arts (SAPA) in San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago. The 28-year-old fashion model from Perly, Geneva, succeeded last year's winner from Puerto Rico, Fernando Ezequiel Padin. He became the first representative from his country to win the international title. Rounding out the Top 6 finalists were first runner-up from the Philippines, Kristzan Karlo Delos Santos; second runner-up from Singapore, Aaron Tan; third runner-up from Trinidad and Tobago, Aquil Ramsahai; fourth runner-up from Vietnam, Nguyen Vu Linh; and fifth runner-up from Tahiti, Teaniva Dinard.  No stranger to pageantry, the new Mister Grand International was named Mister Suisse Francophone 2020 and went on to win the Mister Globe 2021 virtual edition. Alia Guindi bested 13 other finalists to win Miss Universe Switzerland 2022 on Friday, September 2 at La Marive in Yverdon-les-Bains. The 19-year-old model and dance teacher from Fully was a finalist at Top Model Europe 2020 and a Top 6 finalist at Miss Suisse Francophone 2021. She will now prepare to represent Switzerland at the 71st Miss Universe pageant.  Nicole Zimmermann and Tiphaine Sagne were respectively the first and second runners-up while Zolanny Encarnación and Sashi Chiesa completed the Top 5. Former Miss International from Puerto Rico Lauri Simpson graced the event as part of the international panel of jury. She was joined by former Miss Universe Spain Sofía del Prado, former Mister Colombia International Rey Rodríguez and reigning Miss Mundo Colombia Camila Andrea Pinzon. Switzerland last competed in Miss Universe with Jastina Doreen Riederer in 2018. Since its debut in 1953, the country has not won the international title yet. After a 3-year hiatus, Switzerland is returning to the Miss Universe pageant this year. Fourteen finalists will be competing for the title of Miss Universe Switzerland 2022 on Friday, September 2 at La Marive in Yverdon-les-Bains. Switzerland last joined Miss Universe in 2018 with Jastina Doreen Riederer. Since its debut in 1953, no Swiss representative has won the coveted crown yet. The country's highest placement was second runner-up in 2006 with Lauriane Gilliéron. The next Miss Universe Switzerland will represent her country at Miss Universe 2022, whose date and venue are yet to be announced.
