Mariana Macias Ornelas of Mexico was named Top Model of the World 2022/2023 in a glittering competition held on Friday, March 3 in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. The 26-year-old model and business owner from Chapala, Jalisco bested over 40 other beauties to win the title. She succeeded the winner from last year's edition Natálie Kočendová of the Czech Republic. Leicy Rivas Moreno of Colombia and  Sandani Peiris of Sri Lanka were the first and second runners-up, respectively, while Danilka German of the Dominican Republic, Isabelle Linnea Åhs of Sweden, and Sorn Likhitpaksorn Vajidsuwan of Thailand rounded out the Top 6 finalists. The representatives from Ecuador, Egypt, Estonia, Georgia, Maldives, Puerto Rico, Romania, Serbia, Trinidad and Tobago, and Zambia completed the Top 16 semifinalists. The inaugural edition of the Miss Zimbabwe Queen pageant will take place on Saturday, September 10 at the Harare International Conference Center (HICC). Former Miss Zimbabwe Brita Masalethulini will host the big show with Zimbabwean Radio DJ and businessman Tich Mataz while comedienne Madam Boss, fashion stylist Tafadzwa Zimoyo and fashion entrepreneur Hollywood Lee will host the red carpet. Musicians Jah Prayzah, Enzo Ishall, Trevor Dongo, and John Cole will be guest performers. The newest national pageant in Zimbabwe was founded by former queens Tendai Hunda and Hilda Mabu and its winners will have the opportunity to represent the country at various international pageants such as Miss Earth, Miss International, Miss Intercontinental, Miss Model of the World, and Top Model of the World. A total of 12 beauties from all provinces of the country have been chosen to compete in the upcoming competition. Pierinna Patino Flores from Peru has won Top Model of the World 2020 in a glittering event held last Friday, March 5 at the Meraki Resort in Hurghada, Egypt. The 22-year-old model and advertising graduate from Callao bested over 30 contestants to win her title.  Mexico's Priscila Moreno Valverde and Colombia's Gisele Archbold Davis were the first and second runners-up, respectively, while Romania's Andreea Bianca Mateescu, and Zambia's Precious Ngóma, completed the Top 5 finalists. The new Top Model of the World succeeds Nicole Menayo of Spain and her victory marks the second time that a Peruvian representative triumphed in the competition, the last one was in 2018 with Janet Leyva Rodriguez.
