Former Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi will be attending as a special guest at the grand coronation night of the Miss Universe Philippines 2023 competition. The South African beauty will be joining the reigning Miss Universe R'Bonney Gabriel who will also be present at the highly anticipated event on May 13 at the Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena in Pasay City. To recall, Zozibini was crowned Miss Universe 2019 by her predecessor Catriona Gray of the Philippines. She then became the longest-reigning Miss Universe titleholder due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Former Miss Universe shares tribute on Cheslie Kryst's first death anniversary

Former Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi shared a touching tribute on the first anniversary of her friend and former Miss USA Cheslie Kryst's death on January 30. The South African beauty who won Miss Universe in 2019 went to social media to post an old video of her while wearing a matching outfit with Cheslie. She wrote in her caption, "I can’t believe today marks a year since we lost you." Zozibini competed with Cheslie during the 68th Miss Universe pageant in Atlanta, Georgia. After the competition, they shared an apartment in New York City while respectively reigning as Miss Universe and Miss USA. Unknown to everyone prior to her tragic passing, Cheslie was quietly battling high-functioning depression, and just a year ago, she ended her life by jumping from her high-rise apartment. Former Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi has announced the exciting news on her social media that she was cast for an upcoming American historical epic film. The South African beauty will have her acting debut alongside stars Viola Davis, Thuso Mbedu, Lashana Lynch, and John Boyega in "The Woman King" film written by Dana Stevens and directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood. "I am so honored and excited to announce that I have been cast for the film," the 28-year-old beauty shared on her social media. "It is a completely new world and first-time experience for me so I enter it with the utmost respect and humility. Forever grateful and looking forward," she added. The film was inspired by the true events that happened in The Kingdom of Dahomey, one of the most powerful states of Africa in the 18th and 19th centuries. Zozibini Tunzi of South Africa took her final walk as the longest-reigning Miss Universe at the culmination of the 69th Miss Universe pageant in Hollywood, Florida last Sunday, May 16. "My Miss Universe win is my ancestors' wildest dream. We are now in a world where a Black African girl from a country that is only 27 years into democracy can represent them on the global stage," she said in her emotional speech. "I want to honor them for fighting for my freedoms so I could be where I am today. I'm proud to know I did my best to make a difference, cementing a footprint for others to follow in the future," she added. Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tunzi made a special appearance at the Latin American Music Awards 2021 held on Thursday, April 15 at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida. Styled by Emma Pritchard, the South African beauty looked stunning as she presented an award alongside Mexican actor Jesús Moré.
