A 22-year-old model and international relations student representing Isla Flamenco, Mehr Eliezer, was crowned Señorita Panamá 2019 (Miss Panama 2019) on Thursday, June 20 at the Roberto Durán Arena in Panama City.
Mehr bested 23 other contestants to win the title and will now prepare to represent Panama at the Miss Universe 2019 pageant later this year.
Other winners crowned during the national competition were Señorita Panamá International 2019, Betzaida Rodríguez and Señorita Panamá Grand 2019, Carmen Drayton. They will compete in Miss International 2019 in Japan and Miss Grand International 2019 in Venezuela, respectively.
The runners-up were Carmen Jaramillo and Ana Lucía Tejeira. They will join Miss United Continents and Reina Hispanoamericana pageants this year.
Reigning Miss International Mariem Velazco from Venezuela was present at the glittering event.
Panama has won Miss International 1998 with Lía Borrero and Miss Universe 2002 with Justine Pasek.
