Carmen Isabel Jaramillo has been officially crowned Señorita Panamá 2020 on Tuesday, August 11 at Telemetro’s Tu Mañana program.
The 25-year-old beauty was appointed Señorita Panamá following the announcement of the organization last March to postpone this year’s pageant due to the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.
Señorita Panamá Organization’s president, César Anel Rodríguez, led the crowning ceremony together with last year’s winner, Mehr Eliezer, who had the chance to do her farewell walk and relinquish her reign.
The new Miss Universe Panama will represent her country in the 69th Miss Universe pageant to be held next year.
In a social media post, Carmen expressed how happy she is to have been officially crowned. To her, it is both a challenge she embraces wholeheartedly and a fulfillment of a dream she had for seven years.
With a commitment to take full responsibility for her realized dream, she said, “I know that with work and perseverance we can achieve everything.”
